SanHe Loupan is a live San He luópán compass for feng shui students and practitioners. It also computes a full BaZi (Four Pillars) chart from any birth date and time, and supports 1-on-1 video consultations where one side aims the back camera at a physical compass while the other guides over video.
The compass uses your device's magnetometer. If it's stuck, you're probably indoors near metal or a power cable. Step away from the device for a few seconds, then wave the phone in a sideways figure-8 motion. The app's calibration prompt appears automatically when the sensor needs it.
Open the Profile tab → Compass settings. Toggle "Use true north" and enter your local declination (East = +, West = −). You can look up your declination at ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag-web.
Both phones need either the same Wi-Fi or a working data connection. If you see "Checking network paths…" and it hangs, try moving both phones to the same Wi-Fi (mobile carrier NATs can occasionally block the relay used for cross-network calls). On iOS the app needs your "Local Network" permission for same-Wi-Fi calls — if you missed the first prompt, enable it in Settings → SanHe Loupan → Local Network.
Yes. On the sign-in screen tap Continue as guest. The live compass works for everyone. Saved BaZi profiles and video consultations require an account because they sync to our server.
